Client: - PCC of St Benet’s Church c/o Fr. Richard Arnold
Location – Lupton Street; Kentish Town; London NW5
Role – Quinquennial Inspector (Paul Jackson), Architects (construction and conservation)
Nature of Project – Ri) Quinquennial Inspections, ii) High level stonework repairs, iii) Roofing and Decoration of rainwater goods
Date of Commission – Inspections every five years. Repair work started 2004 & 2007
Stage Complete – Completed & Ongoing
DETAILED PROJECT DESCRIPTION –
i) 2004 Appointment by parish confirmed by Diocese. Health check, setting targets for the following 5 years.
ii) Following failure of string-courses at the east end, a survey was carried out of the church at high level. Repairs to the coping stones, buttresses and a sculptured Calvary group.
iii) New asphalt to lower-level roofs; refurbishment and decoration to guttering and pipes, lead weatherings and repairs to rotten vestry roof.
